THE PARK IN OFF SEASON AND WINTER: Eleven Mile is a wonderful place to visit in the Fall and Winter. The Summer crowds become a memory and serenity sets in. The scenery and wildlife are most enjoyable and the fishing and catching are great. This October is starting off with spectacular weather and some pretty darn good catches.

Ice normally tends to arrive in coves and on the West end first. We generally don’t see much until mid to late November. It is rare to ice fish on Thanksgiving but it has happened. Look to early December if we are lucky. Last year saw Eleven Mile with pretty good ice compared to most places. We are getting our ice fishing offerings on the store floor. Stop in for a pre ice fishing chat. We have our Ice Lazers and Tiny Tots on display now. Only available at the Marina since we make them ourselves.

TROUT:GOOD: The bite has been picking up from boat and shore. Lots of great fish being landed. Mostly Cuttbows ranging 15 to 24 inches. As Fall sets in the bite can be anytime. Early and mid mornings have been good. There has also been a pretty strong afternoon bite. Lots of baits are working but colors and patterns vary sometimes daily. Trollers see activity on green rainbow cowbells, lead core with Tas Devils, downriggers with Rapalas and Macks or Kastmaster presentations. Drifting bait for those so inclined has seen some big ones on nightcrawlers/mallows and power baits. Shore anglers doing equally as well with Sunrise and Sunset the best.

KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: No good reports beyond fish moving up river.

NORTHERN PIKE:GOOD TO VERY GOOD: Strong bite continues and improves. Lots of medium size 28 to 31 inches. Bigger ones on the prowl and starting to attack. Big Sticks, and spoons doing well. Work 6 to 18 feet Rocky Flats, Stoll Mountain, Howbert Point and Witchers Cove. Many areas around the lake are seeing great Pike action and you don’t need a boat. Good numbers being caught from shore too. Lots of baits of different baits are working.

SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park.  Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.
