We have always been at a 150 team limit and are able to increase to 160 this year. You do not have to be in all three. But if you choose to be in just one or two as many have done in the past it would be wise to sign up sooner rather than later. You must be in all three to qualify for the Final Grand Prize and Toyota Tacoma.

NEW ONLINE STORE: We are very excited about our NEW ONLINE STORE. We are not trying to compete with the online giants. We are looking to primarily provide certain products and services only we have. Like curbside pick up at the lake. Like exclusive products only available from us. So if you want to pre purchase any items from our store and hit the ice without delay, give it a try. Same service will be available during boating season.

LETS GO CATCHING: Reservations now being taken for ice fishing Guide trips. Click the “RENTALS AND GUIDE” link top of page for details. We have been guiding on the ice since 1994. Experience counts. There are not tons of ice guides out there but there are some and most offer trips in the 6 to 8 hour range since they have to travel to get here and need to make it worth their wild. We are here at the lake and have found that if we can’t do it in 4 we can’t do it. Most of our Winter clients are first timers or still learning with a few making us an annual trip and some looking to learn more about Eleven Mile. Four hours on the ice is just about right for most people. We offer the ability to add time if the action is hot and heavy and you want to stay longer. call 719-748-0317 for your trip now.

ICE SKATING RINK: We have been maintaining an ice skating rink (with hockey nets) for the last few years and intend to have one this year again. Based on conditions we hope to have that ready by Christmas this year. Currently do not rent skates.

CROSS CREEK CAUTION NOTICE:. First they were going to close down access for two days this week now they are down to a caution notice for Monday December 16. Aurora Water was going to be testing a new main valve out of Spinney which will include periodic releases of water at different CFS levels. The high prediction is around 250 CFS which is typical Spring run off but into new ice could cause some issues. Also water clarity may be effected by such releases although oxygen flow will also increase so catching may be also effected. Either way Monday may not be the best day to hit Cross Creek.

LARRY’S ICE FISHING LIST: Made up a few copies of a very comprehensive list of equipment you should have when going hardwater angling. Stop in for a free copy. You should always go prepared and a checklist makes that more likely.

TIME TO GO HARDWATER ANGLING

CURRENT CONDITIONS: ICE ON!!! It’s been full on Winter here since the middle of November with snow and cold temps. It has been in the negative digits most mornings with a -21 being seen a few days ago. Wind has not been an issue of late and generally is less the colder it is. The ice is going on two weeks old. Caution Always advised. If you see a wet spot in the snow stay away. About 4 to 6 inches of new snow on Monday. Roads are plowed, snow packed and some icy spots. Fishing access areas are plowed. Fresh snow makes it a little harder to tow your gear. Cleats still nice for traction with snow on fresh ice being slick.

PIC # 2: Winter stocking in full swing, 20,000 Snake River Cutthroats today on top of 50,000 Cuttbows last few weeks. They put in “catchables” 10 to 12 inches. Fun time to take the kids to North Shore Marina and have some fun.

TROUT: VERY GOOD: Initial action is strong on the West end. From Stoll Mountain to Cross Creek. Stocker action at North Shore off the hook. A variety of baits are working. Look to the Sierra Slammers, Tube jigs, Paddle Bugs, Krystal Lazers, Tiny Tots and Kastmasters. Stop in for the up to the minute report that you can’t get anywhere else.

KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT

NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: Mostly smaller fish but it’s early. Waterdogs and Suckers now in stock.
